Can you believe it? Rosh Hashanah is right around the corner! Crazy how time flies.
Seems like everybody we know is getting in an apple kind of mood. Apples and honey, apple cake, apple pie, applesauce...
Must be Rosh.
Here's the BEST recipe we know for Rosh Hashanah applesauce. It's easy for kids to make, too, as long as a grown-up can peel the apples (and supervise, of course!)
From PJ Library's Apple Days:
- 10 apples, peeled and cut into chunks.
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of sugar (or less, if you prefer)
- 1 tbsp of cinnamon
Put the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water into a medium saucepan and heat until boiling.
Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove from heat. Mash or blend the apples. Chill until ready to serve.
Enjoy your holiday!
